Build a drill library, training plans, and goals
Drills, Plans & Goals
Surflink gives you a reusable drill library, multi-week training plans, and metric-based goals.
Drill library
Open Drills (/drills).
Create a drill
- Click Create Drill.
- Fill in Title and Description.
- Choose Category (Water / Land / Mental / Fitness), Level, and Duration.
- Add step-by-step instructions with + Add Step.
- Save.
Filter the library by search, category pills (All Types / Water / Land / Mental / Fitness), and level pills. Coach-owned (custom) drills can be deleted.
Assign a drill
- Click a drill to open its detail modal and choose Assign to Student.
- Pick the Student, an optional Due Date, and Notes.
- Click Confirm Assignment.
You can also assign from an athlete's profile: on a training-mode (recreational) athlete's Drills tab, click Assign Drill, choose the Drill, an optional Due Date, and Instructions/Notes, then Assign Drill.
Training plans
Open Plans & Goals (/plans) and stay on the Training Plans tab.
- Click New Plan.
- Choose the Athlete, a Plan Title, Description, Start Date, and End Date.
- Click Create Plan. Surflink generates one week block per week in the date range (status draft).
- Expand the plan to edit each week: set a Focus area, add drills with the + Add drill... selector (they become removable chips), and add week notes.
- Use Activate to move a plan from draft to active, Mark Complete when finished, or Delete.
Goals
On the Goals tab:
- Click New Goal.
- Choose the Athlete and Goal Title.
- Pick a Type: Custom, Sessions Count, Drills Completed, Heat Total, Competition Placement, Events Entered, Maneuver Goal, or Fitness Benchmark.
- For non-custom goals, set a Target Value; optionally a Target Date; add a Description.
- Click Create Goal.
You can also set goals from an athlete's Goals tab, which adds extra contest metrics for contest athletes and supports milestone checkpoints. Goal cards expand to Mark Complete, Abandon, or delete.
