Send athlete invites and track acceptance
Inviting Athletes
Adding an athlete to your roster does not give them a login. To let an athlete sign in, send an invite from the athlete's profile page (/athletes/[id]).
Invite a student
- Open the athlete's profile.
- In the header, click Invite (this button only appears for athletes who haven't accepted yet).
- Surflink generates an invite link, copies it to your clipboard, and the button changes to Invite Sent!. If you've configured email, the athlete is also emailed the link.
- Share the link with the athlete if you copied it manually.
Once an athlete has accepted, the button is replaced by an Active pill.
What the student does
- They open the invite link (
/invite/[token]). - They see "Join Surflink", your name, and their pre-filled details.
- Their Email is pre-filled; they set a Create Password (minimum 8 characters) and click Create Account.
- They're taken to their student dashboard. See the Student Guide.
If a link has already been used, it shows "This invite link is invalid or has already been used."
Self-enrollment via a club link / QR
For grassroots intake, share a club enrollment link so athletes add themselves.
- Open Club QR (
/settings/club-qr) -- reachable from the Add Athlete wizard or Settings. - The page shows a QR code that encodes your public link (
/club/[your-slug]). - Optionally set a Vanity slug -- click Edit, type a slug (minimum 3 characters), and Save.
- Use Copy link or Print to put it on a flyer.
When someone scans it they land on /club/[slug], enter their name (and optionally email, phone, age), and click Join roster. They appear on your roster, and if email is configured they get a link to finish creating their profile.
Self-enrollment includes a reminder that anyone under 16 should have a guardian complete it.
